The Marvelous Mrs.<\/em>\u00a0Maisel<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0actress Wenne Alton Davis has died at age 60. She was hit by a car in New York City on Monday while crossing the street and was pronounced dead at the hospital.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Wendy Davis, who went by the stage name Wenne Alton Davis, has died at the age of 60. According to authorities, she was struck by a vehicle at around 9 pm on Monday as she crossed the street at the intersection of West 53rd Street and Broadway in New York.<\/p>\n

Davis, born in 1965, suffered severe trauma to the head and body as a result of the incident. She was transferred to Mount Sinai West Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.<\/p>\n

The driver, a 61-year-old male, was in a 2023 Cadillac XT6. He stayed behind after the accident, and as of Wednesday, he faces no charges or arrest. Per\u00a0Entertainment Weekly<\/a>, she was out to dinner with friends and was walking to the train station when the devastating accident occurred.<\/p>\n

An investigation by the NYPD Highway District Collision Investigation Squad is ongoing.<\/p>\n

\u201c[Davis] sustained severe trauma to the head and body,\u201d police told People Magazine in a statement. \u201cEMS responded and transported [Davis] to Mount Sinai West, where she was pronounced deceased.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThe operator of the 2023 Cadillac XT6 remained on scene and was not injured as a result of the collision. There are no arrests at this time, and the investigation remains ongoing by the NYPD Highway District\u2019s Collision Investigation Squad.\u201d<\/p>\n

Wenne Alton Davis\u2019 manager, Jamie Harris, told\u00a0The New York Times<\/a>\u00a0that the actress moved to New York in her 20s to pursue a career in stand-up comedy. She later transitioned to acting and worked at JFK International Airport to support herself.<\/p>\n

\u201cI can only describe Wenne Davis as a bright light,\u201d Davis\u2019 agent Jamie Harris said in a statement. \u201cShe had a huge love for New York, for acting, for her colleagues at JFK, and, most of all, her family and her circle of friends (which was also huge). She was someone for whom friendliness and kindness were not what she did but more who she was as a person.\u201d<\/p>\n
