For his wife, he prepared a different version of events \u2014 a fake business trip order, supposedly urgent.<\/p>\n

In the evening, he returned home, pretending to be tired.<\/p>\n

\u201cI have to leave for a business trip tomorrow,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

His wife simply nodded \u2014 for several months, Arthur had been distant and irritable. However, he was so sure of his lie that he didn\u2019t even consider for a moment that she had already known the truth for a long time.<\/p>\n

She had suspected him for a while. Her intuition told her it wasn\u2019t work \u2014 it was another woman.\"\"She didn\u2019t have any proof. Until that evening.<\/p>\n

Late at night, when Arthur fell asleep, she quietly went down to the garage. She turned on a flashlight and started searching the car. It didn\u2019t take her long \u2014 she quickly found what she was looking for: a carefully folded vacation offer for two people, with the name of the mistress written in the \u201csecond person\u201d section.<\/p>\n

FOR A MOMENT, SHE FROZE. IT WAS A BLOW, EVEN THOUGH SHE HAD EXPECTED IT. BUT AFTER A MOMENT, SHE REGAINED HER COMPOSURE. SHE WENT BACK HOME AND SAT IN THE KITCHEN IN SILENCE FOR A LONG TIME.
\nShe could have caused a scene. She could have thrown his things out the window or called that woman.<\/p>\n

But she chose something entirely different. By morning, she had a plan ready. And what this calm, reasonable wife did turned out to be a real shock for Arthur\u00a0\"\ud83d\ude31\"\"\ud83d\ude28\"\"\"She took a bag of flour and carefully divided it into several small, transparent zip-lock bags. They looked suspicious \u2014 enough to raise interest, but they were completely harmless.<\/p>\n

She hid them among her husband\u2019s clothes in his suitcase.<\/p>\n

On the day of departure, Arthur was in excellent spirits. His mistress walked beside him. He suspected nothing.<\/p>\n

But when the suitcase passed through the scanner at the airport, suddenly an alarm went off. The staff exchanged glances and approached Arthur:<\/p>\n

But when they placed the suitcase in front of him and one of the officers pulled out several small bags with white powder, Arthur felt his hands go cold.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2026 I don\u2019t know!\u201d stammered Arthur.<\/p>\n

THE HOURS OF INTERROGATION BEGAN. THE SAME QUESTIONS OVER AND OVER. CHECKING DOCUMENTS. EXPERTS CALLED IN.
\nThe mistress called him dozens of times, until finally, she stopped. Exhausted from waiting, she flew on her own.<\/p>\n

After several long, exhausting hours, an expert entered the room.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019ve tested the substance. It\u2019s\u2026 regular flour.\u201d\"\"The officers exchanged glances \u2014 this time clearly irritated.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou may go. But your flight has already departed.\u201d<\/p>\n

Arthur left, clutching his suitcase tightly. He tried calling his mistress \u2014 she didn\u2019t answer. He returned home completely shattered.<\/p>\n

WHEN HE OPENED THE DOOR, HIS HEART FROZE. THERE WAS NOBODY HOME. HIS WIFE HAD TAKEN THE CHILDREN AND LEFT.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
